Time magazine continues its penetration into the cryptocurrency and NFT worlds by partnering with blockchain-based gaming company The Sandbox to build Times Square New York in Metaverse.
Building a virtual Times Square:

Times Square New York is a creative cultural hub, business intersection, tourist destination and neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York, USA.
The area is known for its vast, illuminated billboards and is considered the beating heart of New York.
TIME magazine plans to recreate something similar but in metaverse.

The partnership will allow the media company to build TIME Square on its virtual land in The Sandbox, making it the first-ever destination for TIME since it joined the NFT space last year.
TIME WANT TO BECOME THE HEART OF METAVERS:
In September 2021, the popular media company launched TIMEpieces, an NFT community initiative featuring the original artworks of more than 40 influential artists.
The community currently includes four sets of non-fungible tokens:
Inspiration, women’s long tie of the year, slice of time and Beatclub collection.
According to Keith Grossman, president of TIME, the company’s goal is to build a virtual environment that will become the heart of metaverses, adding:
Our goal is to create a destination that will be the heart of the metaverse.
Since the launch of TIMEPieces in September 2021, we have focused on developing a community in Web 3 and benefiting from the incredible 100-year legacy that TIME has created.
TIME Square will serve as a one-stop platform for TIMEPieces holders to enjoy unique experiences such as attending meetings and events hosted by TIME Studios for educational and entertainment purposes.

Commenting on the partnership, Sebastien Bourget, co-founder of The Sandbox said:
