Answer Beware of scams and fake offers coming from “Bitcoin.org” after it has been hacked
Bitcoin.org is the oldest cryptocurrency website registered by Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous founder of Bitcoin.
This site was hacked earlier today.
The hackers then scammed and made fraudulent offers tempting to give away bitcoins by multiplying the bitcoins sent by users to the said address.
The scammers reportedly managed to collect $17,764 before taking down the site.
The website is still offline and inaccessible for the moment.
The owner of the transferred website, known by the pseudonym “Cobra,” tweeted to reveal the news and told the website might remain offline for a few days.
