Answer Learn about the top 5 dApps on the ICON decentralized network

We’ve heard it a million times now: The cryptocurrency market last year experienced a major tumble. Despite these harsh conditions, we have seen that DApps in general in the expansion and spread of the ICON network continue to grow in order to adopt and create real uses of blockchain technology

The decentralized ICON network has forged new partnerships to support its digital currency (ICX) by expanding the network of decentralized applications. Towards the end of the year, we chose the top five ICON decentralized applications that had the most success in 2018. We based our selections on the following criteria: product launches, token sale events (or ICOs), level of partnerships and developments technological.

ZenSports app

ZenSports made history by being the first DApp based on the decentralized ICON network. The app is a peer-to-peer (P2P) sports betting marketplace that eliminates the need for a centralized bookmaker.

It was officially launched last September worldwide, except for the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. CEO Mark Thomas travels nonstop to talk about the project he co-founded, and it pays off. In November, Thomas took first place at the “Balkan Gaming Expo Startup” event in Bulgaria.

Recently, the ICO stage kicked off, with ZenSports planning to integrate cryptocurrencies and smart contracts into the app early next year, proving that it is not planning to stop making evolutionary moves.

weBloc بروتوكول protocol

“weBloc” is a protocol that differentiates the traditional advertising ecosystem and connects it with the blockchain-based one. In terms of partnerships, it has mainly acted as a decentralized application of the decentralized ICON network with projects such as the Blue Whale Foundation and Airbloc Protocol which is the official advertising partner for the ICON decentralized network.

This year, we saw the company establish its company on Jeju Island as one of the first blockchain projects working with the government on the island. They also released their first project demo “weCon,” a messaging app that combines a wallet and allows users to transfer and manage IRC-based tokens.

The beta service is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2019. WeBloc has successfully achieved its initial undergraduate target, allocating 400,000,000 tokens. They have also been realistic and communicative about their future, saying that if the market doesn’t anticipate by January, they will push back to pre-launch.

LogisticsX app

LogisticsX provides traceable, verifiable last-ditch logistics service between multilateral logistics operators and includes the use of a flexible workforce to complete final delivery steps. The project completed the token sale in September, with 400,000,000 PNP allocated.

LogisticsX hasn’t seen as many partnerships as some of the other DApps here, but it has provided more concrete details than other projects about what these partnerships will do. One example is the partnership with the Blue Whale Foundation to reward freelancers. The logistics platform has also signed on to the Global Supply Chain and Logistics Alliance (GSLA) as an inaugural member.

Headed by Bitcoin-based Supply Chain (RSK) platform (TKCO), GSLA aims to solve the issue of localization in logistics platforms through collective expertise. For LogisticsX specifically, this alliance gives it more business contacts in Korea, where TEMCO is based.

Some may be surprised to see blockchain-based entertainment platform STAYGE on this list, but this silent giant has made some big moves this year. The team implemented STG and ACT tokens on IRC2 standard tokens and created the STAYGE Wallet API. The team released both as open sources. The platform also completed an interconnection test with the ICON mainnet on its STAYGE development server in late October, which “generates approximately over 25,000 wallets, creates over 400 ACT nodes, and over 10,000 transactions.” Transactions on the iKON mainnet.

“In the past month, our website traffic has increased by more than 420% with the launch of our new services,” says Nick Yang, Head of Global Business Development. These services include their ACT donation project, the just-released K-pop Star Quiz “Morning Star” app, where fans can post a photo of their favorite star and the STAYGE team send them curated photos of that star to their phones. On top of all that, the team has updated the home page of their website.

Airblock . protocol

Airbloc Protocol is a service that redefines how data is collected, monetised, and used with enterprise and application-oriented features. They just released their Q3 and Q4 business report in detail earlier this month, but here are some of the highlights:

The company had eight partnerships this year, including one with KB Kookmin Card, the largest credit card company in Korea. Line’s investment fund has also signed a partnership with Unblock Ventures as a strategic investor. The Data Service has also been updated with a “Use Cases” section to clearly communicate what its services can offer to existing businesses and individuals.

In October, Airbloc Protocol also provided their community with a second copy of the working paper to reflect its technical updates to build a more feasible and eventually adoptable product. In November, they released their tokens on their official platform. In the second half of this year, the project also made some significant technological advances in data management, warehouse, and aero sidechain to name a few.

Carboneum platform

Carbonum at the time of writing this article was on the Ethereum network, but it will move to the decentralized ICON network in the first quarter of the new year (2019), so we mentioned it. Carbonum is a social trading platform that aims to make investing in cryptocurrency easy for the masses. Iconist’s Robin J. Wolfe interviewed founder and project director Max Kortrakul earlier this month.

The platform may not have as many partnerships this year as the other DApps on this list (not that it has none, it has partnered with ICON and LATOKEN), but Carboneum has seen progress in other areas. Most notably, I launched the app in October that analyzes information from the market and puts it in your hands.

The main motive behind creating this platform was to “democratize investing by making it easy for anyone to use the same powerful tools as the experts.” If the team’s previous StockRadars project is any indication, Carbonum is sure to make an impact and make an impact.

Conclusion..

We know that other decentralized applications on the ICON decentralized network have achieved a lot this year. For example, the Blue Whale Foundation launched Shareable Asset which generated 100% sales in the first round of contributions. In this list, we chose five projects that were steady in progress. The astonishing amount of work that Decentralized Apps has accomplished in a short time only indicates its bright future.
